Statistician Nate Silver expects Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton to rise in the polls after the first presidential debate, according to an op-ed published Tuesday.

“Democrats woke up on Monday to a spate of bad polls for Hillary Clinton, which brought Donald Trump to perhaps his closest position yet in the Electoral College,” Silver said.

“They had reason to go to bed feeling a lot better. Clinton bested Trump in the first presidential debate according to a variety of metrics, and the odds are that she’ll gain in head-to-head polls over Trump in the coming days.”

3. Clinton needs to be on TV and on the stump every day until the election

She has been spending a lot of time preparing for the debate, and it paid off, but now she needs to get out and support all of the people working for her on the ground. She also needs to counter Trump being the only one on TV every day.

5. She has a rally in NC today

and one with Bernie Sanders tomorrow in NH, plus several more events leading up to the next debate on Oct. 9th. It remains to be seen how many are covered on tv.

and be out campaigning. I'll be watching those poll numbers to see what happens!
