Romney Backer: “Maybe It’s Time” For The Right To “Go After The Obama Children”

If this starts happening, you'll know where it came from. Ugh.

Romney Backer: “Maybe It’s Time” For The Right To “Go After The Obama Children”

Posted 22 March 2012 | 12:49 am EST

Appearing Wednesday night on Fox News’ Hannity, conservative columnist, author, and Mitt Romney backer Ann Coulter said that “maybe it’s time” for conservatives to “go after the Obama children.”

Watch @ link~

Coulter was in the middle of claiming that liberals have rhetorically attacked the children of conservatives, but the right has refused to do so. This is false.

In fact, there are several incidents of conservatives going after the children of Democratic presidents.

* In 2010, conservative radio show host Glenn Beck mocked Malia Obama, doing a crude imitation of her voice, then questioning the then 11 year old child’s intelligence.

* A few days later, Rush Limbaugh made the same attack on Malia Obama, using a falsetto impression of her voice.

* In 1992, Rush Limbaugh illustrated a story about Chelsea Clinton with a picture of a dog on his short-lived television show.

* In 2001, conservative writer John Derbyshire wrote a column in National Review titled “I Hate Chelsea Clinton.” In the column, Derbyshire wrote, “Who, in current public life, has been ‘thrown up to us’ so much as Chelsea?” He went on: “Chelsea had now reached the age at which it is acceptable to pass public comment on a woman’s physical appearance.” He concluded with: “Chelsea is a Clinton. She bears the taint; and though not prosecutable in law, in custom and nature the taint cannot be ignored.”

For the last few months, Coulter has made numerous media appearances in favor of Romney, insisting that he was the most viable conservative among Republican presidential candidates.

If there is any decency left in this country their idea will backfire on them. They are trying to make Obama angry so they can use the "angry" black guy argument.

There is justifiable anger. And people of conscience should savage these people on the social networks if they engage in such practices. There is every right to defend the interests of these children.

My daughter went to one of her events/speeches at Iowa State. Coulter had beefy bodyguards up the ying yang. My kid was careful about what she wore, and left all her political paraphernalia at home. She was still surprised that they let her in.

Funny thing: for being such a huge school, the event was poorly attended. There were only about one hundred people there.

I am not going to alert on you, but it is a bad idea to advocate violence toward the emaciated harpy. Let's not be like them.

Never mind that it is obviously completely wrong to go after the minor children of famous people, I'm genuinely at a loss as to what Coulter thinks there is to "go after" them for. For real, does anyone know?

Or are they literally going to go after Sasha and Malia for being Black while living in the White House?

I remember back in 2007(?), the right-wing attacked a family when the Democrats used them as examples to demonstrate the need for expanded SCHIP coverage- that they passed and George W. Bush ultimately vetoed. To them, pretty much anybody is "fair game" for political attacks, whether they're children (of prominent politicians), law students, COVERT CIA AGENTS, etc.

which the Obama's acknowledged. It was during her private school's vacation time. I guess that's bad.

I'm sure that they hate that those girls are in White House while being black. I think that is a rationale, too. But they are trying very hard to be careful to not blow their cover here....

First, I'm guessing the parents chose the school originally, not the kids. Kids don't tend to have the final say in much.

Second, I'm guessing that the majority of people would understand that the President's kids are going to have an easier time having the necessary security at a private school.

do bodily harm to Karl Rove at the airport - he was being picked up and was in the car in front of me. One little slip of my foot would have squished the turd blossom as he put his bags in the trunk of the car. Alas, had his cute son with him, so I decided to go call him a war criminal, but then they sped off just as I got out of my car.

I regret not squishing him.
