Trump thinks China should invade North Korea, and not a peep from the media . . .

I thought that was one of the true Bizarro World moments of the debate, and hardly a whisper of comment on that specific moment of insanity.

Sure, have the Chinese extend their power into the Korean Peninsula on a long-term basis (because the aftermath would be long-term chaos);

Provoke a military confrontation with an insane military dictatorship with a huge army, some nuclear capabilities, short-to medium distance missile capacity and absolutely no place to go;

Dislodge 25 million refugees who would go . . where?;

Likely set off a long-planned strike against a city of ten million people within 35 miles of the DMZ, potentially including use of tactical nuclear weapons;

Destabilize one of East Asia's major manufacturing nations;

Provoke regional recession/depression.

"We are not we are not keeping up with other countries I would like everybody to end it, just get rid of it but I would certainly not do for a strike. I think that once the nuclear alternative happens, it's over. At the same time we have to be prepared. I can't take anything off the table because you look at some of these countries. You look at North Korea we’re doing nothing there. China should solve the problem for us. China should go into North Korea. China is totally powerful as it relates to North Korea."

How come this isn't getting any attention?

Just asking . . .

A forceful takeover would be dangerous, as you pointed out. But I think China could do more to bring NK into the 21st century.

With 28,000 American troops. That could cause a lot of trouble for both China and the United States.

It's precisely why they are propping up the regime.

China has at least made overtures about changing the nature of their country. It's a shame, though, if both China and the U.S. are willing to perpetuate North Korea's misery just for the sake of politics. I would like to be proven wrong but I don't think the North Korean people can change their government.

OTOH, it is Trump, and who the hell knows what he means?

We can't even understand what he says.

Oh, and what he said is deplorable.
