2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI'm back to DU after a long hiatus
I joined DU in 2004 and followed it years earlier than that. My life has taken some crazy turns in the past few years that include the loss of my wife of forty years, relocation to another state, remarriage and retirement. For the past few years I have been a faithful lurker here but now I have to get back in the game. I cannot sit by let the worst of our country give the store away to a vile, self-serving charlatan. I ask everyone who reads this to watch the PBS Frontline documentary, "The Choice 2016". It tells with great clarity how Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton got to where they are today and gives clear insight into what drives them. It isn't flattering of either of them. It's good objective journalism that even hardcore Trump supporters will appreciate, at least the sentient ones. Watch it DVR it. Tell your family and friends. It airs again on Friday and next Monday

(68 posts)I welcome anything that exposes the lying dirt bag Trump. But anything anti Hillary isn't cool.
This is a good person no matter how hard the right & left leaning media try to brainwash
people into thinking otherwise. But sadly millions of people do believe the complete BS
about Hillary. God help us if Trump wins. It would be like putting a 3 year old in charge
of our nukes. Just insanity!

(2,716 posts)I came away with a new appreciation of her journey and how she set aside a promising career to follow Bill Clinton to Arkansas. It portrays her deep loyalty and shows the roots of all the false negatives that have dogged her. It shows how Trump bungled his biggest real estate venture and was left with nothing left to peddle but his name.

(2,716 posts)It gives a very revealing look into how a child of great privilege became the manipulating narcissist that he is. It confirms our worst suspicions about why he seeks the highest office in the land. If I were a Trump supporter, I would appreciate an unbiased look at my candidate, even if it might persuade to me not vote for him. If they can still support him after watching this, they have contracted some of his syphilitic delusions. It is real journalism and that is a rarity in this election.
