Volunteers were invited to hear from President Obama this evening; first we are getting the state-by-state rundown of how many new voters were registered, how many doors were knocked on, how many phone calls were made. The numbers are astonishing and AWESOME! Entire books will be written about this ground game. So impressive!

I volunteered a ton in 2008 and a few times this cycle (busier now due to law school and no longer live in a swing state).

5. The White House operator just brought POTUS on the line!

This is really awesome! He just said we "changed the nature of the electorate" in the swing states, and "you made it a better country."

Says we proved the naysayers who said we could not duplicate 2008 wrong, too.

"changed the conversation in the country about who we are and how we need to move the nation forward"

"our work can't stop now ... We've accomplished a lot ... We will have triumphs and successes but also tough days ... We need you to stick with us and stay on us ... How we can all stay involved because we are stronger when we are together."

I love how the gist of it was that we're still a group of grassroots volunteers and we will continue to work and be involved and be called upon to contribute to the work of the next four years. Yes!! I'm still fired up and ready to go.
