2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumKaine's interruptions: effective if also rude as hell.
Kaine interrupted Pence a lot. A lot.
But there was a point to it.
He was derailing Pence's attacks on Hillary. The effect in a boxing match of clutching when the other guy is trying to deliver a beat down.
When Kaine gave Trump a beatdown, Pence didn't clutch/interrupt, he just stepped out of the way while smirking.

(15,696 posts)Kaine was fantastic, IMHO. He did what he set out to do, and he did it so well that everyone is picking apart Pence's side stepping foxtrot this morning.
TRUMP-BS-DETECTOR
(68 posts)Pence did the same thing. And lied on top of it after pretty much every response given.
Pence won the debate on style by only 6 points. But most thought Kaine was far more
honest. Which means this dipshit didn't win squat last night.

(58,755 posts)this morning is all about fact checking, and it's about 9-1 Pence lies to Kaine.
Commercials are already coming out with the lies exposed.

(45,027 posts)Sure Pence was smooth but he was very deceptive.
As more and more people realize that they've
been lied to, the more they're going sour on Pence.
Kaine did well championing the truth.

(2,795 posts)Thats not what Kaine did last night.Last night, Kaine conducted a deposition. In a deposition, a lawyer questions a witness outside of the courtroom, but everything is recorded and can be used later on. These arent flashy or scripted affairs. A deposition can be repetitive and boring. But over many hours, a skilled lawyer can get what he wants out of a witness.
