Romney: Obama won because he gave gifts to blacks, hispanics and young people during his first term

Mitt Romney told his top donors Wednesday that his loss to President Obama was a disappointing result that neither he nor his top aides had expected, but said he believed his team ran a “superb” campaign with “no drama,” and attributed his rival’s victory to “the gifts” the administration had given to blacks, Hispanics and young voters during Obama’s first term.

Obama, Romney argued, had been “very generous” to blacks, Hispanics and young voters. He cited as motivating factors to young voters the administration’s plan for partial forgiveness of college loan interest and the extension of health coverage for students on their parents’ insurance plans well into their 20s. Free contraception coverage under Obama’s healthcare plan, he added, gave an extra incentive to college-age women to back the president.

“The president’s campaign,” he said, “focused on giving targeted groups a big gift — so he made a big effort on small things. Those small things, by the way, add up to trillions of dollars.”

Amazing the amount and depth of denial we're seeing. If this is what they think is wrong, they're just gonna keep on shrinking and they'll never see the inside of the White House again other than on one of those public tours.

But what they have to come to peace about, and wake up about, and reach some sort of acceptance of - is this:

They're simply going to have to start changing their ideas. And I'm not sure that's possible until the holders of those ideas age all the way out.

1) They're gonna have to abandon their racism and stop regarding so many different colors of people as somehow less than they are.

2) They're going to have to understand that a woman's sovereignty over her own body is NON-NEGOTIABLE. It's just not up for debate. A woman's right to choose is an ABSOLUTE.

3) They're going to have to embrace cold, hard facts - including ALL the ones they don't like. Such as science. Such as evolution - taught in science class. Such as climate change. Such as the human causes of climate change. Such as teaching "creationism" where it belongs: in religion, theology, or philosophy class. Such as NOT calling it "creation science" any longer.

4) They're going to have to accept that gays are born that way, it's NOT a choice, and that this is the 21st Century. Since when does somebody else get to veto your choice of marriage partner?

5) They're going to have to realize that the rich SHOULD pay more in taxes. They're best-equipped. After all, isn't the phrase that pays: "go where the money is?"

6) They're going to have to let go of this moldie-oldie notion that Government = Bad.

7) They're going to have to realize that freedom isn't free because it costs the blood of patriots AND tax money.
