Related: About this forumWhy Romney is telling big donors that he lost the election because of 'gifts'
Last time around Romney dumped tens of millions in and this time kept his personal money out of it (reportedly as part of an agreement with Ann as a condition to run a second time).
When he went back time and again to the donors and fleeced them for millions of dollars he guaranteed them a victory.
Now he has a bunch of angry donors and he trying to wiggle out of his personal guarantee. That was also the reason for his 47% statement earlier, he was already trying to lay the foundation for his failure.

(31,849 posts)romney extended his Bain business model into the political arena?
Bain business model for corporations:
Get a couple or a lot of people to give you millions of dollars to buy a company, then cash out before/as the business fails. IOW, his money is not at all tied to whether the venture is successful or not.

Brilliant, I tell you!

(53,061 posts)Not only that but the 47% comment was basically a statement saying that he couldn't possibly win this thing.
He was saying that Obama only had to persuade 4% of the remaining 53% and he would win.
At the same time he was raising money he was telling some donors that if he loses, its not his fault.

(53,410 posts)That's exactly what he did. It's the only thing he knows to do. He doesn't risk himself or his money. He does it all with other people's money. It's what the mafia does. Buy successful casinos, skim their share off the top until they run the casino into the ground and then abandon it on with their pockets stuffed with money and continue their quest for another successful casino.
They could make the same amount of money for themselves if they ran their 'businesses' legitimately and the community would be better off, but that's not their thing.
