In the year of 2012 President Obama has nominated 38 federal judges, the senate has confirmed TWO


... and that does not include the 3 remaining folks nominated in 2011 that are also still waiting for confirmation.

... when the GOP objects to a nominee it takes '60 yes votes' to get cloture in order to bring the confirmation vote to the senate floor,
then when the full senate votes 51 votes are needed for the confirmation to pass.

The problem has been that the GOP has been objecting to the majority of the nominees.
