GOP Trap-Obama and Dems Don't Fall for It

It is a given that a large majority of Rethugs in the House will not vote for any "Grand Bargain" simply because Obama is for it. Where does that leave the Dems and the scenario that plays out:

1. A bargain is struck that cuts Social Security and Medicare in return for a few crumbs from the thugs.

2. Boner has to get a large number of Dems to support it because his party won't vote for it. The Dems vote for it because Obama is behind it.

3. In 2014 the Rethugs get to run ads during the election that say the Democrats voted to cut Social Security and Medicare.

4. Result--more Teabaggers in Congress and the rethugs have the momentum going into 2016.

President Obama-the Grand Bargain is a trap, don't fall it.

Like Lieberman, for example.

My suggestion to Obama - don't take their offer. You've got them by the short and curlies, just run out the clock and wait for them to cave.

Some of the health care costs are moved to 'Obamacare', those aren't cuts though. The work the Obama Admin. has already done to computerize everything has generated billions in savings. Those savings also aren't cuts.

Once the bush tax cuts expire and the health care plans move forward, no one in 2016 will want to regress back to the bush-gang-years.

Unlike the 2011 debt ceiling "crisis", Obama and the Democrats have all the negotiating power this time.

Any bargain is going to have to come from the Republicans hoping to get a deal before the fiscal cliff.

If they do nothing, Bush taxes expire and defense is cut. Obama can just push tax cuts for the 98% and the Republicans will be forced to accept it.

Both parties are corrupt and based on the evidence it seems democrats (most) want to give the reupblicans what they want but because it has consequences with their voters they are just looking for cover to blame republicans.

We need a third party system because both suck

Hope i'm wrong but we've seen this game played for the past 4 years.
