It seems Trump planned to stalk Clinton around the stage. An effort to control her?

Trump seemed to appear to be everywhere Hillary went. He pranced around behind her throughout the debate. It looked like an irate mate daring his woman to get out of line or I will smack you. I think he learned this technique to control women.

and it fits perfectly with his misogynistic profile. That kind of crowding into a woman's personal space is only one step away from inappropriate touching.

I'm proud of Hillary for standing her ground, for not--as many of us do, in self-protection or because women don't want to upset anyone--moving away from him when he approached her so closely.

In Trump's case, seated and behind a curtain so we wouldn't have to witness his non-stop gurning.

He was trying to stay in front of the camera, as he's been doing most of his life, almost on instinct at this point.

But when the camera is zoomed in on a close shot of Hillary, it makes him appear even closer than he really is. The way a zoom lens "flattens" a telephoto shot elevates the creep factor from stalker to full-on pussy-grabber.

in that it was very hard to concentrate on what Hillary was saying with him standing or pacing so close to her. Those who are saying Hillary was rattled were probably projecting their own inability to concentrate onto her. Hillary did great nonetheless, and I admire her for it. I wish I could be that strong and cool when faced with bullies.

She was using a Bill Clinton debate trick in Town Halls were he gets up and walks across the stage to address the questioner and put himself between the question and his adversary. This has an effect of making the other person look either left out or force the camera to catch the scowls of the other person making them look like a douche.

Its a brilliant, and subtle tactic and Hillary used it to fantastic effect.

Trump, for his part, fell for it and spent time walking into it, making him look like a creepy stalker. Even when he was going back to his chair, the camera made it appear he was walking up on her.

He got played by Hillary, what a dope.
