Trump's debate coach should have told him to back away from Clinton when he was not speaking
Running around behind her like that looks very unprofessional.
It can be interpreted as being a form of underlying hatred.

by his thingie, podium?, but always stood on the middle side of it, toward her. She commented on how small a space it was and how he was kind of looming there.
My strong impression was that he is clearly very territorial, and she triggered that further when she walked to his side of the rostrum to speak to someone. He'd follow to that side, but only a couple of times indulged himself by following her away from his little designated territory.
They may have warned him severely about getting in her space, but it seems they may have not realized that his larger size and distance foreshortening were going to work against the big man instead of for. Dominating presence--not. Territorial gorilla presence--yes. 
Much less a candidate for President of the United States.
