Never assume that they're dead.

Many people thought the GOP was "dead" in the early 60's too.

We sorely need help out here in the US.

The party will likely survive, but will certainly go through a retrenchment, or split, or something. Their postmortem on this election promises to be very interesting.

Why spend the future answering for Nixon, Bush II, and now Trump?

I decided that the Right's lock on the Republican Party was rock-solid and that there was nothing liberals and moderates could do to change its direction. At that point I decided that to remain in the Republican Party was the same thing as being a "useful idiot" for the Republican Party's reactionaries, so I bailed.

Live and let the Republican Party die.
