2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIsn't going after your political enemies using the apparatus of state SOP for 3rd world dictators?
A few examples from history: Stalin in the Soviet Union; Edi Amin in Uganda; Pinochet in Chile; Pol Pot in Cambodia, and just about any tin-pot dictator.
This particular item really should be the main take home of the debate. To threaten retribution of your political opponents, live on stage, is not American.
Technically, this is worse than the "2nd amendment remedies", which could be taken - if you give Trump the benefit of the doubt - as meaning political pressure from the NRA.
The threat of imprisoning a political opponent is a direct and clear threat - there is no way for a Trump apologist to spin that threat.
