Republicans, rich or poor, are two sides of the same coin.
This weekend I was at a family wedding. My wife's family has always been Republican as they have had a comfortable life. Lots of stock brokers, etc in the family. My buddy, who was raised in Arkansas, was also there. While he was raised without a lot of money, he has a good job now after 10 years in the navy.
This morning in the hotel at breakfast, talk of the debate came up. One of my wife's relatives, who is female, said she can't stand Trump but dislikes Hilary even more. My buddy from Arkansas said he thought Trump was great as he "finally took it Hilary" and said the things he should have said already.
It is hard to fathom how people could watch the debate and see something 180 degrees different from what I saw; a man who couldn't answer a question, loomed over Clinton, rambled incessantly, and made not one valid point. However, it goes to show what lengths people go to to justify their vote for Trump.
I've often told my wife that, no matter what, 44% of people will vote Trump. All the talk of Republicans unendorsing Trump is political strategy to help sway undecideds in close elections. The media is back on board with the horse race analogy as they think now that Trump will lose but want more political theater.
We need to make sure that we vote in record numbers because the death of the Republican Party is overstated. A large number of Americans are against Democrats, even if they(Republcans) don't stand for anything.
