My Greatest Fear is Not That Hillary Won't Win...

I have every confidence that Hillary will be our next President. Of this, there is little or no doubt.

My greatest fear is that Hillary is being damaged to the point where she will not be as effective as she could be when she takes office. The tactics used by Trump of throwing nothing "red meat" to his supporters is frightening. It's almost as if he knows he will not win, so he will do as much damage as possible to the incoming President.

I want to make a point concerning this damage and what it means to our future....but most importantly, how it reflects on Donald Trump.

Donald Trump doesn't care about this country. He doesn't care if the incoming President is damaged or made ineffective. He has shown over and over again that he DOESN'T CARE!

How his supporters cannot see this (especially from last night) is beyond me.

3. House and Senate. The argument doesn't matter if we can make it happen.

America will give a collective…“WHOOSH” and say “THAT WAS CLOSE” and get on with governing with a Congress controlled by the Democratic Party.

5. It's been said before, her ratings go up when she holds a position.

It's only when she asks for a raise that her numbers drop.

This article pretty much sums it up.

It’s hard to remember these days, but just a few years ago, everybody loved Hillary Rodham Clinton. When she stepped down as US secretary of state in January 2013 after four years in office, her approval rating stood at what the Wall Street Journal described as an “eye-popping” 69%. That made her not only the most popular politician in the country, but the second-most popular secretary of state since 1948.

How can we reconcile the “unlikable” Democratic presidential candidate of today with the adored politician of recent history? It’s simple: Public opinion of Clinton has followed a fixed pattern throughout her career. Her public approval plummets whenever she applies for a new position. Then it soars when she gets the job. The wild difference between the way we talk about Clinton when she campaigns and the way we talk about her when she’s in office can’t be explained as ordinary political mud-slinging. Rather, the predictable swings of public opinion reveal Americans’ continued prejudice against women caught in the act of asking for power.

drawn up - Dems HAVE to take the House and Senate, otherwise we're in for four more years of obstructionism. Republicans keep saying "we can't take four more years of Obama" by electing Hillary - what we can't survive is another 4 more years of not a single fucking constructive thing getting done. We have to sweep out the stench of Tea Party influence, and START MOVING FORWARD, ffs.

The bitter, ugly, stalemated deadlock in our government, borne of Republican hatred, MUST BE ENDED. THAT bullshit is what's making America not so great. We need a functioning, cooperative government. This ridiculous, juvenile, asinine, backward-thinking majority MUST BE REMOVED! We can elect all the Democratic Presidents we want until the end of time, but if he or she doesn't have a congress that respects and supports him or her, and works only to undermine and undo - we're going to continue to be fucked.

We need term limits.

We need to lose Citizen's United.

And, eventually, it will come to pass that this type of dinosaur republican will become extinct - but I don't think it's going to be anytime soon, and it's going to get uglier before it gets better. It's going to be just as hate-filled and ugly for Hillary as it has been for President Obama.
