2016 Postmortem

"It's become a common refrain for Donald Trump and his idiot hordes: Hillary Clinton has "been there" (I guess in Washington, DC, although it's pretty damn vague) for "30 years" (Although when do you start measuring? 1986? But she stopped being Secretary of State in 2013. So 1983? But then "there" ain't DC, but Little Rock, Arkansas. It's so confusing). And, he says, she didn't do anything then that she now wants to do as president."...
"So Trump wants to know why Clinton didn't do anything about health care costs? Well, in 2007, she cosponsored the Medicare Prescription Drug Price Negotiation Act, which would have allowed Medicare to bargain with drug companies for lower prices. The House had passed it. And then the Senate killed it with a filibuster.+
"She cosponsored a bill to require the president to remove troops from Iraq starting in 2007. It was filibustered. She cosponsored a bill to raise the minimum wage. It was filibustered. This is not to mention the bills she sponsored or cosponsored that were vetoed or didn't even get out of committee, like expanding health care for children."

(20,998 posts)tRump is a liar, plain and simple. He very well knows what he says about Clinton is untrue. He is going for mileage, nothing more. His clueless hordes are the epitome of low information and have no fucking idea they are being used like toilet tissue. They will swallow everything the talking yam regurgitates without subjecting any of his claims to critical thinking.
tRump is a clear and present danger to the United States. His candidacy is a mockery of our democratic system.

(4,033 posts)My own opinion is that as a pathological liar, he is functionally unable to tell the difference between reality and unreality. I think he truly believes all the crap he spews, just like he is absolutely sure that he never said the things he later gets called on. "Never said it." "Nope."
"Not true." and so on. Reality to him is only in the moment and at that moment he believes what he says. If it turns out later that it is wrong, he never said it because he is never wrong.
With a little luck he actually will convince his supporters to get out to the polls in drives, in landslide numbers and he will score a resounding victory, beating Hillary in a landslide so great that there actually won't be any Hillary voters at all on election day Nov 28, 2016.
