DU men, I have a question.

Last edited Fri Oct 14, 2016, 03:20 PM - Edit history (1)

Do you like playing on the boys team right now? I don't know about you, but since last Friday my libido has curdled like month-old milk in the back of the refrigerator. I'm 69 years old, so maybe the Trump tape coincided with my last drop of testosterone and if I want more it will come from the drugstore to be applied to my armpit. The timing does seem suspicious though. Trump has made being an older man seem like having a troublesome growth that has a tendency to swell from time to time. At least my fingers are normal size.

Maybe I am just feeling the mojo of millions of justifiably angry women. I tried to ignore this election. 2000 to 2008 took a toll on me I didn't want to repeat. I have suffered Nixon, Reagan, the Bushes and now they are inflicting Trump on me. Enough is enough. From here on is expletives deleted. Make up your own. I know you can.

On edit-I forgot Ford, but he was pretty forgettable.

It's an even greater time to be a gentleman.

Donald Trump and his minority of followers don't speak for, nor represent, the majority of us American men who respect women.

There is a justified anger that women can tap into given how they've been abused and denigrated. That's going to change, I think, when Hillary Clinton moves back into the White House, this time into that odd-shaped room.

Have heart and stand tall, rzemanfl. These weird and troubling times are passing. A new era is on the horizon.

Yes women are mad at Trump and those like him. But women are aware that not every guy is like Trump. If anything the bus load of deplorables has made those of us who don't suck as human beings look better by comparison.

If those of us who aren't like that shrink back, it just leaves more space for Trump supporters to say all guys talk like that and grope random women. Instead we need to demonstrate that we aren't. Not just by not talking like that or groping women, but instead acting on that. Speaking up, voting against Trump and his ilk.

I am an older white woman who has experienced sexual harassment, discrimination, and mostly, ignored, by men in the workplace over the years. When President Obama took office, I expected and found that from the outset, everything he did that irritated people managed to irritate white people who never felt their feelings were based on race, but only on him being a person who did not represent their political ideology. But it wasn't. Male and female citizens were affected. Some even actually learned they had always been racists who just didn't know it.

They are today. When Hillary Clinton became the leading candidate for the Democratic nomination, I knew without any doubt this would come. I hoped it would not come, but somehow, I knew that it would. All my history of dealing with men and women and their various opinions of women in power, and just folks, tells me if she is elected and serves she will face the same nutty justifications that everything she does will be reflective of her being a woman in a negative sense.

I don't worry though. Just in case she doesn't win, and he does, I know we have a huge fight for years to come to restore this country to its long-standing principles. I don't think that will happen, but will be ready if it does.

OK there is my rant. I am pretty sure if Trump and Pence are in charge, I will be using more expletives than you for the next four years.

That would never have happened if it was a football game.
