2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAnyone in Ohio know
anything about absentee and early voting stats so far?
Ms. Toad
(34,082 posts)She missed the last (special, local) election - and when she drove past the polling place 2 days ago she momentarily panicked and was afraid she'd missed the election.
So yesterday she went down to the local board of elections to make sure she was able to vote (since her work schedule is unpredictable and she might be scheduled in a way that interfered with going to the polling place). She's not messing around with anyone set on destroying her access to health care (among other things).
Beyond that - I don't know.

(14,855 posts)... with a pretty high proportion of AA voters when I was there.
There was also NO Trump volunteers or signs anywhere to be seen, but lots of Clinton signs and volunteers cheerily passing out information (beyond the 100 foot boundary from the building).
There's been similar news reports from Cleveland.
I'm especially optimistic after seeing the "ground game" in Dayton because it's usually more of a toss up between Democrats and Republicans here compared to places like Cleveland. Dayton is sort of on the border of Northern progressives and Southern "hicks" in Ohio. Lol. EDIT: I'm writing in very general terms. I know there's a mix of different kinds of people everywhere.

(42,286 posts)More than 140,000 have decided to vote early (in person or by mail). I would guess most of that is requests for absentee ballots. The ballots started going out Wednesday.
Bear Creek
(883 posts)Me, son and my sister voted today. Lots of people voting on a Friday in Scioto County.

South central on the Ohio river.

(364 posts)and said that early voting for democrats is down about 16% from 4 years ago in OH
EDIT: The 16% decline is in Cuyahoga county, which is the highest democratic county. That's not good news.

(22,008 posts)I had seen that data earlier; and is why I asked the question.

(44,974 posts)Franklin county (not as democratic as Cuyahoga but pretty heavily democratic) seems to be doing well so far.
"In Franklin County, more than 2,400 people voted in person at the early voting center on Morse Rd."
