Person behind PussyGate talks. My guilty pleasure, Days of Our Lives, may change history. Interview

Disclaimer: This post is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but not entirely...

I admit it. I am a 50 year old straight man, and I watch Days of Our Lives (DOOL).

It was a delightful shock for me to hear that one of my favorite characters, Nicole Walker (played by actress Arianne Zucker) was the subject Trump's comments in the infamous PussyGate leaked video.

In the past, I've joked with my friends who give me a hard time about watching a soap opera that it allows me to be a part of something larger than myself. The show started running on November 8 (!!), 1965. I was born in November 1966. So DOOL has been running since before I was born, and most likely the show will still be running long after I'm dead. That's what I mean when I joke that DOOL is something larger than myself.

But NOW, with the PussyGate tapes finality penetrating Trump's Teflon Armor, (which had withstood scandals that would have easily destroyed the career of any other political candidate a thousand times over) it appears that Trump may have finally sustained damage from which he will never recover.

So DOOL has, in fact, literally changed the course of human history. Now THAT's truly something larger than myself!

Watching the show after the tapes came out, I though about what it must feel like to be Arianne Zucker. Here you are, merely playing a character on a soap opera, and YOU are the one who slays Trumpzilla, who is very likely the greatest threat the human race has ever faced!

Here's an interview with Arianne Zucker:

Disclaimer 2: Admittedly not what RFK had in mind in Cape Town, but still...

"...many of the world's greatest movements, of thought and action, have flowed from the work of a single man. A young monk [Martin Luther] began the Protestant Reformation, a young general [Alexander the Great] extended an empire from Macedonia to the borders of the earth. It was a young Italian explorer [Christopher Columbus] who discovered the New World, and the thirty-two-year-old Thomas Jefferson who proclaimed that all men are created equal."

"...These men moved the world, and so can we all. Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation."

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
