Some of the later ones came in by the 1820's....my husband has older roots, with ancestors that were killed here in 1690.

Half of my great grandparents were immigrants, and one great-great-great was both an immigrant from England AND a soldier in the revolutionary war. My late wife had some native American blood, but as far as I know I don't.

And so were my third great grandfather and grandmother (Lincolnshire, UK). The rest of my ancestors arrived in the US before the American Revolution.

Yes, 1600s. Crazy, eh? Lots of Scots and English and Irish who came into Maryland and South Carolina and worked their way down into the delta and bayous.

All of my immigrant ancestors arrived here in the 1600's and 1700's, mostly from the British Isles to colonies in the northeast.

I have 14 confirmed "patriot ancestors" who fought the Brits in the Revolutionary War. I joined the SAR in the past, but the old Republicans that I encountered at local meetings made that a temporary venture.
