I am highly offended that this is a "black" ad. It could have been a multi-cultural ad with a 50-50 ratio and we would have gotten the message.
Black people aren't the only people who are thinking of not showing up.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. This ad really bugs me.

I thought about it again. On cable stations like BET, Bounce, VH1, and Aspire these ads would work out well. Maybe on closed circuit TV in black neighborhoods.
But DEFINITELY, we aren't the only ones who don't show up.

(6,148 posts)However, as for writing targeted ads, they may have been part of the reason why my candidate lost in the primaries. The campaign was targeted at women. I encountered a few men who were turned off by it. Who said: what can she do for ME? We couldn't afford to lose voters.
So, if Hillary's ads are targeted ads run within a confined space, then an all-X ad makes sense.
I saw the Texas ad, and I understood the target.
Maybe, demographically, black people are the highest group that doesn't show up. I just hope the ad only airs in that market.

(891 posts)it's a targeted ad, but I don't see it as being overly cynical.
