Related: About this forumSo, the "better dead than red" crowd supports Putin loving Trump!?!?
Who, on the planet, shouted that louder than conservatives? It is a puzzlement.

(62,444 posts)I can't figure it out.
They want the US to be friendlier with the former head of the KGB.

(32,016 posts)He is not a Communist by any means. I think the Russian Communist Party would attest to that.

(90,708 posts)...and neither knows nor cares.
Take me, for instance. I was barely born when Joe McCarthy was terrifying people, and now I'm a grandma. I grew up under the shadow of the Bomb, but again, I was a little kid then a teen.
It was my parents' generation, the WW II generation, that got caught up in the Red Scare. They sent my generation off to fight the Reds.
People who've lived through enough of this history and remember it, or who have taken history classes and remember, are probably getting the same sick sense of deja vu that I am. Take Putin...he ran the freaking KGB. At what point after the fall of the USSR was this man washed clean of that in the public eye? So much so that Dubya could look into his eyes and say mistily that he had seen Vlad's soul?
Now these people, Trump's Troglodytes, are completely amnesiac of all but their personal grievances.
I can't even.
