2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWell, it was certainly fun while it lasted, but a Republican never really changes
George Will got some good pub for hitting Trump in an article earlier this week. Well, looks like he needed to scamper back into the good graces of (at least the Paul Ryan wing) of the GOP to secure that sweet sweet wingnut welfare check...
So George floats a turd strongly implying that we oppose Voter ID laws so we can rig elections.
GEORGE WILL: Well, when Mr. Trump talks about it being rigged, he sweeps all his grievances into one big puddle. He talks about the media. He talked about the primaries. He talked about the polls. He talked about the Republican National Committee. I think when most Americans hear that an election is rigged, they think of government action to rig the election. And there Mr. Trump has a point if he would just make it more clearly. It is hard to think of an innocent reason why Democrats spend so much time, energy and money, scarce resources all, resisting attempts to purge the voter rolls, that is to remove people dead or otherwise have left the jurisdiction. It's hard to think of an innocent reason why they fight so tremendously against voter I.D. laws.
Nice. Typical lying horse shit bait and switch.
Slap Donny a little one day and then give him cover - and the gloss of "intellectual" justification for his "rigged election" whine the next
Seriously - This POS is a slime, a shill and a chancre on the body politic

(9,897 posts)I tell ya what...once the GOP can produce a program that AUTOMATICALLY registers EVERY eligible voter with whatever the fuck kind of ID you want - photo, hologram, virtual reality - AND supports EVERY program to make voting as easy and as accessible as possible - including early voting, voting by mail, extended voting precincts in minority and densely populated areas....THEN you can pontificate about:
It's hard to think of an innocent reason why they fight so tremendously against voter I.D. laws.
Voter ID laws, as currently proposed, are nothing more than voter suppression and he knows it...to say otherwise is disingenuous at best and flat out fraudulent at worst.
