Krugman calls climate change the most important issue.

Last night Paul Krugman tweeted "Climate change never comes up unless HRC brings it up. Debate moderators have completely failed on the most important issue."

Damn straight it is. It's the issue that will require the most intelligence, creativity, coalition-building ability, and courage to effectively tackle. And if we get it wrong, it's the one that will cost an unthinkable number of lives.

Krugman and I are both speaking from a position of white privilege.

The way I see it, climate change, climate justice, Black Lives Matter, Citizens United--they're all entwined. It's hard to talk comprehensively about one without talking about all of them.

I wrote my post fully aware that the suffering coming from global climate change--the death, poverty, starvation, mass immigration, growing xenophobia, resource wars--are all going to disproportionately affect the people with the least privilege, and the least hand in creating this catastrophe. Eventually, of course, it will affect everyone, everywhere.
