DOJ Complaint Filed Against FBI Director James Comey For Interfering In Presidential Election

Will this make it better or worse??

DOJ Complaint Filed Against FBI Director James Comey For Interfering In Presidential Election

By Jason Easley on Fri, Oct 28th, 2016 at 4:35 pm

A complaint has been filed against FBI Director James Comey with Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility that accuses him of interfering in a presidential election.

The Democratic Coalition Against Trump released a statement announcing their complaint:

The Democratic Coalition Against Trump filed a complaint with the Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility on Friday against FBI Director James Comey for interfering in the Presidential election, following the FBI’s decision to open up an investigation into Secretary Clinton’s emails this close to Election Day. Federal employees are forbidden from participating in political activities under the Hatch Act.

“It is absolutely absurd that FBI Director Comey would support Donald Trump like this with only 11 days to go before the election,” said Scott Dworkin, Senior Advisor to the Democratic Coalition Against Trump. “It is an obvious attack from a lifelong Republican who used to serve in the Bush White House, just to undermine her campaign. Comey needs to focus on stopping terrorists and protecting America, not investigating our soon to be President-Elect Hillary Clinton.”

Outrage is growing over Comey’s actions as details about the FBI investigation have revealed that it has nothing to do with Clinton, her emails, or her server.

Director Comey’s motives for sending the letter 11 days before a presidential election have been questioned by both Republicans and Democrats.

If Comey’s actions were politically motivated, he would be in violation of the Hatch Act.

What Republicans initially viewed as a new hope in the presidential election has quickly been exposed as a desperately political ploy.

The American people deserve a full explanation from Director Comey, because the letter that was released today raises more questions than answers.

point, but Comey does not appear to be acting in the interests of justice.

And as most of us understood his role, that's specifically his job, and he's not doing it.

But it looks as if the DOJ is way ahead of me on this one.

If the media would stop having organisms over something that isn't an investigation and it has to do with some made up shit.

Why. Why would the media screw up the country like this?

did this under pressure from the GOP, or if nihilist Roger Stone was involved, or maybe even Dr. No from the 007 flicks.

Because in the real rationale world of law enforcement, this appears to stink to high heaven and back again twice.

Maybe a thorough investigation of Mr. Comey is in order. Followed by his stepping down.

invited to that meeting and can ask some very pointed questions.

From a professional management standpoint, Comey looks like bush league slop. At best.

At worst it looks like his department is trying to throw the election.

I want some answers.

He needs to come out and retract and offer public apology and then resign.

The RW babbling about how lefties were "happy" when Comey made his announcement are a bit off the mark.

All we heard about after his findings and testimony in his original investigation was how "credible" he is. Bullshit. He didn't prosecute her because there was nothing to prosecute in the first place. If he had done his job the way he's supposed to that would have been the end of it; instead, he made judgements against her as being "careless" which was, of course, to throw red meat the Republicans could use based on his expert testimony. The judgements were uncalled for in his capacity and objectiveness of his investigation and yet he was hailed as someone with impeccable character. Now, when the Republicans are losing, he comes along and floats this crap 11 days out with voting going on all over the country - with no reasonable explanation of what he's even looking for that would be any different from his earlier findings.

If this hasn't been using the power of the FBI to influence an election for a political party then what the hell else can it be called?

hoping to wait and hope Comey will do the honourable thing.

Plus it will pile on the pressure, on Comey. It was outrageous what he did, if you stand back and look at it. He sent a deliberately vague bombshell letter to the Reps, saying he didn't know for sure if there was anything in these new emails. a 2 year old would have known the furore this would cause, politically.

every bit of kick back will help. Comey did this to make himself look good to a terrorist organisation called the republican party though it hasn't been a political party since the 1970's. Its is a corporatist terrorist network who's only goal is to destroy our Democracy.

Even Mark Halperin on "With All Due Respect" said he thought this was a terrible move by Comey.

One thing for sure, when HRC takes office the first thing she should do is demand Comey's resignation.
