Reporting on a conversation about emails/election from a hospital

I'm a medical student and I'm currently on a rotation which requires me to go in very very early into the hospital.

While I was working I happened to be near a group of five nurses who were talking quite loudly about the election.

2 of the 5 were democrats who have always voted for our candidate and said that this email scandal will not effect their minds at all- they had already voted for or were going to vote for Sec. Clinton this week. They were vigorously defending her and were pointing towards Bush Admin deleting 20+million emails and no one giving a shit.

1 was an independent- he said he thought both choices were horrible, but in his mind Trump is a disgrace and can't be trusted. He said he was going to vote for Hillary, but he also did worry that she will have to fight through impeachment battles right after the election. Also he thought having Melania as a first lady would be disgraceful. This guy was a huge Michelle Obama fan and said he would vote for her if she ran in 2020 haha

Then there were 2 self-identifying Republicans- both expressed disdain towards Hillary. They said they do not like her at all.....BUT they were going to vote for her. They think she handled the emails inappropriately, but in their mind what she did is nothing in comparison to Trump. Both of them were saying that Trump is a complete buffoon and giving him the reigns of the country is too dangerous.

I know its a small sample size, but it was reassuring to hear that media is just overplaying this email story. People have already been exposed to months of the orange baboon/orangutan's racist, xenophobic, sexist crap and I think they have recognized how dangerous he is. I think this group was representative of how most common sense people are approaching the election

Have a great Tuesday! Remember to GOTV.

I see plenty of Trump/Pence signs around, but not a single Republican of my acquaintance (and I'm one of only two Democrats in a company of 25 Republicans) has said out loud they are voting for Trump. Yet I've had plenty of Republicans tell me they are either voting for Clinton or not voting for President at all!

She handled the emails in a way that would keep them private. Using the government system seems the careless choice to me.

There is a lot of positive out there, but positive doesn't make the news, like negative. Thanks for posting😁

and they're not glorified waitresses. Surviving nursing school is a feat and most of us remember it with the same fondness described by survivors of the Bataan Death March.

I'm not surprised by that conversation. I remember similar ones at my last job, even the evangelical Christians realizing that the Republican candidates were bad news, no matter how much they professed to love Jebus. They saw right through them.

I suspect that Trumper nurses are going along to get along and will likely not be voting for Dirty Don when it comes right down to it. He's every nasty, entitled, contemptuous, demanding, manipulative asshole we've ever had to spend twelve hours at a crack coping with while trying to keep him alive long enough to be discharged.

I am fully aware that media in general, tv and cable news in specific, are the most influential players in America and they have thrown in fully with Trump. Sure, maybe a couple of news "personalities" are secretly pulling for Hillary, but the orders have been given from on high.
The part I can't believe is how Trump has treated them but they still are all in for him. But those people in the trenches have no power at all compared to the front office. We somehow have to get past what they say between now and next Tuesday. They have already dampened enthusiasm, but we can't let them take us down without a battle.
I am also disappointed that the Hillary surrogates are so outnumbered on cable news instead of flooding them with people. Not sure whose call this is, but it is a big mistake.

who will make the switch, but have not said it publicly. I don't see how they can quantify that.
