2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAs you go to your polling place on Tuesday...
Take your cell phone with you. If there are people outside of the polling place harassing voters going in, please take pictures or videos. Even if they are beyond the boundaries that prohibit electioneering, harassment should not take place. Take as many photos as you need to fully document the behavior.
Post your photos in public places, like Facebook and Twitter, and be sure to identify the location of the polling place, including city, state and precinct identifier in the caption where you post. We need to document voter intimidation wherever it occurs.
You may need to put your phone away when entering the polling place. Many states prohibit photos inside polling places. But documenting what happens outside is fine and legal.
Don't engage the harassers. Just document them and publicize the harassment. You can link here on DU to your postings, too.
If any sort of violence is being threatened, report that to the election judges inside and call your local law enforcement number to report it, as well.
Let's take voter intimidation viral.
Thank you in advance.

(146,317 posts)I use a crummy flip phone with a lousy camera, but she has two iPhones. I have no idea why, but there it is. I'll probably take the 6+ with me. One tap posts images on her Facebook feed. She'll have the other one.
Frankly, I don't expect any such activities in my precinct, but I'll be ready if they occur.

(146,317 posts)I imagine there will be Twitter hashtags one can post to. But, posting anywhere that's public will help.
Here's one that already live:

(16,646 posts)My polling place is so milk toast I can't imagine it'd be a particular problem. Does the democratic party have any idea of where these might be a problem? I know there are some efforts by unaffiliated groups to help folks at the polls. My little brother (a lawyer) is working polling sites in New Mexico, there they have specific places they know there are common problems.

(146,317 posts)prepared to document any intimidation that occurs, though. At most polling places, nothing will happen, I think. But, at some, it might. It's best to be ready wherever a person votes, though.

(16,646 posts)I wonder if this kind of thing is prepared at the local or state level?

(12,389 posts)to my polling place. I'll eyeball it, but I can already bet that there will be no trouble. It's just a very well behaved little burg.
Now Miami, up the road a bit, that can be a different story in some neighborhoods. I shudder at the every day news, let alone what some Trump fans versus Latino and minority voters might want to do when face to face in a parking lot. But I'm quite certain that authorities know where the trouble spots are and security should be pretty tight. And any nervous voters already cast their ballots in early voting.
