TRUMP: U.S. SHOULD STOP PAYING TO DEFEND COUNTRIES THAT CAN PROTECT SELVES

JOHN SHANAHAN , Associated Press
Sep. 1, 1987 11:41 PM ET

NEW YORK (AP) _ Real estate developer Donald J. Trump bought full-page ads in three major U.S. newspapers to say the United States should stop paying to defend countries that can afford to protect themselves.

The advertisements appeared in Wednesday's New York Times, Washington Post and Boston Globe at a total cost of $94,801, said Trump spokesman Daniel Klores.

The ads bore the headline, ''There's nothing wrong with America's Foreign Defense Policy that a little backbone can't cure.''
''For decades, Japan and other nations have been taking advantage of the United States'' and that it has been costing this nation in terms of the economy, deficit and taxes, the ad said. ''The saga continues unabated as we defend the Persian Gulf.''

Why is this important?

July 1987: Trump visits Soviet Union
Sept 1987: Trump spends $94k for ads demanding US should abandon its allies.

Trump's 1987 Soviet Union invite was issued by Intourist Hotels, KGB/FSB prepped his suite, AKA, "The Fun Rooms" with Tape/Video.

Intourist was the official state travel agency of the Soviet Union, founded in 1929 by Joseph Stalin and was staffed by NKVD and later KGB officials. In 1933 Aron Sheinman started work for Intourist in London and filled the post of Director from 1937 to 1939.

When he was dismissed he refused to return to Moscow, and gained British citizenship later that year.[1] Intourist was responsible for managing the great majority of foreigners' access to, and travel within, the Soviet Union. One witticism of the Cold War period characterized Intourist by stating that "Intourist is to tourism what indigestion is to digestion."

At the heart of the episode is Trump’s relationship with Aras Agalarov, a billionaire Russian real estate mogul with ties to Putin, and Agalarov’s rakish son, Emin, 36, a dance-pop singer with ambitions to international stardom who got Trump to appear in one of his music videos.

The father and son are two of several ultra-wealthy Russians to whom Trump is connected and with whom he has pursued real estate deals. “I have always been interested in building in Russia,” he told the New York Post just after his return from Moscow. He also boasted upon his return from the pageant that “almost all of the oligarchs were in the room.”

His campaign finances are a source of much investigation from media investigative reporters. How did this cash poor "billionaire" come up with liquid assets to "fund" his election efforts?

Follow Trump’s Money to Moscow

The phrase “follow the money” is supposed to help explain human behavior, especially in politics. So why has Donald Trump embraced Russian President Vladimir Putin? Why has he denied the evidence of Putin’s killing of Russian journalists and dissidents? A savvy businessman, Trump is certainly not dumb. There must be something else to it.

Reports dating back to 1987, during the time of the old Soviet Union, reveal that Trump has been seeking business in Russia and attempting to build a “Russian Trump Tower” in Moscow and perhaps other Russian cities.

Not since the beginning of the Cold War has a U.S. politician been as fervently pro-Russian as Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Just four years after his predecessor Mitt Romney declared Russia to be Washington’s greatest geopolitical threat, Trump has praised President Vladimir Putin as a real leader, “unlike what we have in this country.”

Trump has also dismissed reports that Putin has murdered political enemies (“Our country does plenty of killing also,” he told MSNBC), suggested that he would “look into” recognizing Russia’s annexation of the Crimean peninsula and questioned whether the United States should defend NATO allies who don’t pay their way. When Russian hackers stole a cache of emails in July from the Democratic National Committee’s servers, as security analysts have shown, Trump called on “Russia, if you’re listening,” to hack some more.

Everyone is playing it close to the vest until the "big reveal." Although this is well researched speculation on my part, I have spent a lot of time these past two weeks doing research.

...that this may not be just as devastating to the FBI as it could potentially be to Drumpf.

Now, THAT would be enormous news and would totally cause an uproar & insert real, substantial drama into this crazy election.

Not saying it's going to happen, but man, I wish it would.

Eichenwald is a heavy hitter. He's the one that broke the Cuban Embargo story (which it alone should have taken down Drumpf!). He's VERY thorough.

And I think this is just one of the oppos. The other way may or may not drop. But this one will hopefully be lethal.

If we can catch Trump for treason, that's a game changer.
