Sure there are a lot of stupid people in this country just not enough of them to elect Trump, no matter how hard the media is trying to give it an illusion of a close race, this one is over, and it has been for a long time

A lot of people are really dumb. A lot of people have almost no capacity for critically thinking. Think of all those who really believe "The DaVinci Code" was essentially a documentary.

There are lots, and lots of reasons for this: public and religious schools often don't teach anything resembling critical thinking. Religions tell you not to think critically, but to believe their dogma. TV and movies get LOTS of things wrong. I've been seeing for however long that the CSI shows (none of which I've ever watched) have made life enormously more difficult for trial lawyers, because everyone (apparently almost everyone in this country save me) who has ever watched those shows assume that every crime scene gets handled as on TV, and that lab results are returned within hours.

So get back to the election. People have been primed to expect quick and simple answers to complex questions. People like Donald Trump offer quick and simple answers: I'll make America GREAT again.

And it NEVER occurs to his supporters to ask: How will you make America great again?
