As adults, not so much.
I was abused. I am not an abuser.
It's a choice.

I have noted many times that Donald and Eric are VERY tentative with with their father, Donald Jr in particular. He watches him the way one would watch a cobra or a rabid dog. During the 2nd debate when Donald came off the stage his sons both looked panicked. I recognized the looks they were giving- it was the classic "Dad's a fucking time bomb, is it about to go off?" look. I wish there was footage of that I could pull to illustrate my point. it was downright creepy the mental temperature gauging the boys were doing as they assessed Donald's mood.

Ivanka has an ease with her father the others- Tiffany included- simply do not have.

Inside Donald Jr. there's a boy still trying to gain his fathers approval and Daddy preys on that because he's a fucking monster.

My father never hit me but had particular standards by which he wanted me to live. I didn't meet all of them and ended up being disinherited myself when he died and the neighbor across the street got $35,000.

that if his mother, a very strict Quaker, had only said "I love you" to him, he might have turned out an entirely different person. I think the same will eventually be said of Trump Sr that if his father had only said "I love you", he might have been different, too.

I do feel kind of sorry for the kids because it's pretty obvious that Trump had/has no idea how to give or show real love to his children.

I don't think the boys had much "Dad" time with their father, either--they were raised by their mother, and the only connection they had with Pops was correction. I won't even speculate what kind of interactions his daughter had. She was one of those lucky kids who didn't seem to have much of an awkward phase even as a pre-teen/teen...of course, with a pervy father, that might not have been so lucky.


It's always the oldest who takes the brunt of it. In that context, the "Children of the Corn" pic posted elsewhere in this thread is very telling. Cretinous Donald Junior looks like he got the worst treatment and he's hanging back, tense and bitter. Eric looks smug, like he's in the catbird seat, and Ivanka looks like she's got no worries, either.
