Poor Queen Ann

While Mitt Romney is licking his wounds in seclusion, Ann Romney can’t stop crying, according to friends. Unlike most ordinary people, who understand that nothing is promised, Ann Romney believed her husband was destined for greatness. This is why, as The Washington Post reports, Ann Romney’s been hardest hit by her husband’s defeat:

well it does not say anything about a Queen Ann or any thing other than they "save the constitution" & with what has happened over this election cycle & the awakening of the masses & people sticking together to fight & tax the rich............

Maybe MItts defeat saved us from American Fascism & man eating GOPhers.

I'm certainly no believer in Mormon prophesies, but Mitt does seem to have made this one come true!

And the pollsters, and the pundits ... It's understandable. There is a long line for refunds from whatever god they were tuned in to. One of them is holding a $300 million IOU.

Did the pollsters close to the Romney's decide not to burden them with the real data?

Did they fear to break the Romney bubble? Did they present only the news the Romneys wanted to hear?

The entire fact that they were that shocked at a loss that was obvious for anyone to see tells me that Mitt surrounded himself with yes-men who only told him what he wanted to hear. History doesn't look favorably on leaders with such fragile self esteems.

We've already, and recently, had a president who refused to hear anything he didn't want to hear. Exhibit A: the Iraq War.

Your point alone would be ample reason to feel as though this country truly dodged a bullet in this election.

have lived with disappointment many time is our life. I were born lower middle class, shared a twin bed with my brother until I was 9 and he was 10. Saw our Christmas gifts be lost in a flood from the sewer backing up, started working at 12 and grew up in a laundry. If you think I would shed one tear for this rich bitch you must be on drugs. My childhood just made me strong as can be.

This is a case where the spouse deserves our scorn as much the candidate does. I feel absolutely no sympathy for her. She was almost as much the face of this campaign as her husband was.

A few years back, Will Ferrell made a couple of SNL parody ads as "Mack North" a winning political candidate who continued to air vicious campaign ads even after the election was over.

Announcer: Last Tuesday, the people made their decision loud and clear: Mack North beat Fred Peete in the 6th District race by 8%. Fred Peete was the loser, and he will continue to be a loser.

Mack North: Hey, Fred - I won, and you lost. Boy, does that feel good!

Announcer: Fred Peete has returned to his position as Chairman of the Red Cross. But when a tornado hits your home, do you want to rely on a loser like Fred Peete for food and shelter? Mack North thinks not.

Mack North: After he lost the election, I heard he cried with his pastor. [ laughs ] Cried with his pastor?! Meet Fred Peete, professional loser. Hey, you ate it. Now, eat me!

Announcer: You lost the election Fred Peete. Now Mack North says, "Eat Me!"

[ fade ]

Let's try to not be Mack North around here, OK?

Way back in - what? - June? I recall that some of the progressive talk show hosts laid off of her at first, largely because of the MS issue. Once we all got a good look at her, any such sympathies went out the window 'cos it was painfully obvious she was an obnoxious, unpleasant, entitled asshole just like her hubby.
