George H.W. Bush to endorse Romney

Former President George H.W. Bush will formally endorse Mitt Romney for president on Thursday, CBS News has confirmed.

The former president has made supportive comments in the past about Romney, and his wife Barbara Bush has recorded robocalls for the candidate.

Mr. Bush will make the endorsement in Houston, where he's meeting with Romney. Neither former President George W. Bush nor former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush -- who has already endorsed Romney -- will be at the meeting.

He really doesn't want the GOP to run a winning candidate who will be an incumbent in 2016, when Jeb will be ready to run.

Actually, I thought Poppy endorsed Mitt months ago; maybe he's hoping someone will notice this time.

I'm not really surprised. George HW Bush is part of the "establishment" and more likely to endorse Romney than anybody else, particularly since Romney is and always has been the "establishment" candidate.

Why in hell would that be relevant? I'm assuming this kid is being groomed
for a future career in politics. The bush family are like cockroaches. I hope
the youth of today never forget the history of this family. I know my twenty
something sons never will.
