Senior sources tell @ABC the threat escalated when someone shouted gun at Trump rally. Source with direct knowledge says no weapon found


Reno PD tell @ABC told at time was "medical incident" that resulted in shoving & commotion. More details to come

Of course the Trump crazies on Twitter are already tweeting that this was an assassination attempt -- by a liberal, incited by the evil media -- to which their hero responded with great bravery, so he'll definitely get more votes., etc. And some of them expect the media to try to cover this up. Sigh.

I'm glad it wasn't a real assassination attempt. But I'm also sure Trump was told that it wasn't before he returned to the stage.

And if he wanted to tamp down his supporters' craziness, he could release more details himself.

Editing to add more info -- Homeland Security confirmed there was no weapon. The crowd panicked as a guy tried to raise a sign.
