GOP? WTF?!

I've done it. So have you. We've all glorified the Republican Party by calling it the GOP, the so-called Grand Old Party. But while it's certainly OLD, what's so GRAND about it? The racism? The sexism? The utter lack of concern for any but fetuses and the rich?

No more. "GOP" is no longer in my lexicon, nor "GOPer".

I will go ahead and type out R-e-p-u-b-l-i-c-a-n from now on and thereby stop inadvertently lending relevance and honor to a political party which is barely relevant and certainly devoid of honor.

I hope you will, too. Saving a few keystrokes just isn't worth it.

But isn't so effective when some of the people you might be trying to reach are still Republicans or at least sympathetic to them or the bygone notion of what they might once have been.

I have no problem here calling them out as the archaic fascistic thugs they prove themselves time and again to be, but I do try... sometimes... to not flame those things and thereby diminish my message.
