There was a real chance for Student Loan reform, reversing Citizen's United, strenthening

Civil Rights, Woman's Rights, and Labor Rights, and Environmental Rights.

and yes, this is a rant, but because of those who voted third party or didn't even bother to vote, realistically, I think we can now kiss that off for a long time

Social Security, Medicare, and even the ACA with all its faults are at risk, and we need a strategy to at least limit the damage that can be done in the next four years.

The only flicker of light that I see is the sense that their are enough republicans who would want to maintain the filibuster rules that will allow us to block a complete destruction of the safety nets.
