Polling firm CEO: 20 million Trump voters will lose time and half overtime pay under GOP plan

According to Politico, House Republicans are already plotting the most efficient way to dismantle Obama-era regulations. An overtime rule requiring companies to pay time-and-a-half to workers who make less than $47,000 a year is expected to be one of the first reversals.

“We have heard over the past year that it would have truly dramatically bad effects, not just on employers but on employees across the country,” Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL) told Politico. “I can give you the names of a ton of private-sector businesses who will either have to eat that cost or pass that cost on to their customers.”

Exit polls taken during the Nov. 8 election showed that 41 percent of Trump’s 61 million votes were cast by people who make less than $50,000 a year.

Okay you dumb Democratic Politicians: Do not go on record by voting for any version of this plan. Even if you can help the people out by stemming the severity of this. if you vote yes on any version of this plan the GOP will say the Democratic party supported cutting your overtime too. Democratic Politicians stop falling for the "rope a dope" Republican play book. IF THEY WANT TO DO IT LET THEM DO IT ALL BY THEMSELVES.

To be clear, even more Clinton voters and non-voters will suffer from this. This is Trump doing what's best for big business, not America.

all I have to say is that those fuckers who voted for him deserve this.

Those who didn't... I'm so very, very sorry.

....I could go on and on about how they benefit more from the democrats. But guns. the NRA has convinced them they hate democrats and as such will on get RR news. So I doubt they will hear this news. And if it does hurt them - it's the Democrats fault. I think most Trump voters are like this.

This was the overtime provision for salaried workers under the Fair Labor Standards Act. It is supposed to go into effect on December 1rst and would help approx. 4.9 million workers. (Not 20 million as cited by the article).

I doubt the R's will be able to do anything to stop it from being implemented in less than 2 weeks. However, that of course, in no way means that they won't manage to overturn it later. Let us hope not.
