NSA Chief Says Russia Hacked the 2016 Election..Congress Must Investigate

NSA CHIEF SAYS RUSSIA HACKED THE 2016 ELECTION - CONGRESS MUST INVESTIGATE!

Despite all the news being generated by the change of power underway in Washington, there is one story this week that deserves top priority:
Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
On Tuesday, the Director of the National Security Agency, Admiral Michael Rogers, was asked about the WikiLeaks release of hacked information during the campaign and he said, "This was a conscious effort by a nation-state to attempt to achieve a specific effect."
He added, "This was not something that was done casually..This was not something that was done by chance..This was not a target that was selected purely arbitrarily."

This was a stunning statement that has echoed other remarks from senior U.S. officials.
He was saying that Russia directly intervened in the US election to obtain a desired end: presumably to undermine confidence in US elections or to elect Donald Trump - or both.
Rogers was clearly accusing Vladimir Putin of meddling with American democracy.
This is news worthy of bold and large front-page headlines - and investigation.
Presumably intelligence and law enforcement agencies are robustly probing the hacking of political targets attributed to Russia.
But there is another inquiry that is necessary: a full-fledged congressional investigation that holds public hearings and releases it's findings to the citizenry.

Vote Audit: Did Trump Win Fair-Election Or A Rigged One? New Movement Seeks Data On Suspicious Vote Counts

"Nearly two weeks after Donald Trump won the 2016 Presidential Election - and one month before the Electoral College is set to vote, making the results making the results permanent - a new movement wants to audit the November 8 vote, to investigate whether Trump won the election fair and square, or whether error and even fraud may have placed him in the White House.
One element of the vote audit movement is a Change.org online petition calling for election officials to 'double-check' the election results by conducting a 'risk limiting' audit of the presidential election that uses paper ballots.'"
Even a United States Senator, South Carolina Republican Lindsay Graham, has called for a congressional investigation into possible election tampering, particularly by Russian intelligence agencies."

SIGN THE PETITION!
More than 175,000 people have thus far signed the Change.org petition:
"Demand An Audit Of The 2016 Presidential Election"
http://www.change.org/p/demand-an-audit-of-the-2016-presidential-election

Also, there is now a Democracy For America Petition:
"Sign The Petition: Swing States Need To Audit The Presidential Vote"
http://act.democracyforamerica.com/sign/audit_the_vote/

Contact the President and your Representatives in Congress:
Ask them to support a risk limiting audit of the 2016 presidential election before it's too late.

U.S. House Switchboard: 202-225-3121
U.S. Senate Switchboard: 202-224-3121

The best way to contact President Obama is by e-mail
http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact

If enough of us sent e-mails to POB asking him to do whatever he could to expedite an audit of the election, it might just happen, before it's too late..(but he would probably need to get thousands of such e-mails)
If it's left up to the Republican-controlled Congress, no such audit will ever happen.

So don't just bitch & moan about Trump, Comey, Putin & the GOP sabotaging the election..DO something about it!
Sign the petition!
Send an e-mail to President Obama!
Contact your 2 senators & your congressperson, regardless of whether or not they're Democrat or Republican.

Or, you can just sit on your butt & let Herr Trumph & the rethugs do whatever they want for the next 4 years (or possibly 8)

It didn't work in 2000, and they stole the election.

It didn't work in 2004, and they stole the election.

Something Fishy May Have Occurred In 2012, a la Rover and his insistence that the repubs won Ohio.

Blaming the Russians, who may indeed have hacked the electronic voting systems, will not work in 2016.

I think there is a fair possibility that this election was stolen, but our side has already folded up their tents and gone home, so I wouldn't expect the truth to ever be discovered, or this issue even discussed by the stupid media.

He may be impossible to control and his reign of terror might just prove the undoing of the GOP in the long run.

The repubs are so totally decimated after Bush that they're now going to control the White House and both houses of congress. They did a hell of a job obstructing President Obama enough so as to tamp down the economic recovery, thereby allowing them to gain control of Congress and giving them an opening for this election (along with a little help from Putin).

From what I hear Lindsay Graham is the only one saying there should be an investigation.

This was, however it happened, an election that did not match previous polling and exit polling, and that is on top of the fact HRC will win the popular vote by about 2 million.

Something is rotten and it isn't in Denmark it is here. And the stakes could not be higher.

Who have methodically chipped away at voting rights with legislation state by state for the better part of 20 years and finally achieved the suppression threshold they needed to swing an election. We'll probably never know.

And depending where their loyalties lie are covering it up or it could be Russia.

I do know this the news before the election showed how Russia could hack the election by slipping in a memory card.

Maybe I'm too paranoid to automatically trust ehat intelligence says so I tune it out. I'm not sure what is going on anymore.

On edit If Russia hacked the election exactly how did they do it and what were the effects? Did they give one side more votes than the other? Something else? How did they find out (considering there was so much pre election hype on the possibility) and what about a correction to the hack.

This has happened a lot yesterday when I would change tabs and come back but usually hitting back than forward solves the problem. I don't know if it is my phone but anyways

I wanted to ask why is Mother Jones the only one reporting on this? Surely there has to be other publications that would quote a NSA Chief alleging this. I tried to find more details on this elsewhere and the Mother Jones was the only one popping up with this specific allegation.

to send an e-mail to BHO, and it works.

I think if enough people e-mailed the POTUS, he would get DOJ & the FBI working hard on this before it's too late to do anything about it.
