Don't Kid Yourself: The KGB Cost Us This Election and Pretending it's Bathrooms is ridiculous

I live in a super red area of a dark blue state.

These guys thought that HRC was going to take their *guns*. They thought HRC was going to give their *jobs* to the Mexicans.

They. could. not. give. a. shit. less. about. the. bathrooms.

I finally blew up at one of them, because the truth is, these people act like an active coke head when they are at the end of their blow: they're out of money, they're out of stash, and SOMEBODY has to pay for that. My brother made himself a very rich man exploiting the priorities of the white working class. I explained that if you drive to home Depot on a Sunday night, you don't see any "Mexicans" (sic) there. Why? BECAUSE THERE IS NO DEMAND.

I have an uncle who is one of the largest home framing businesses in my tri-state area. There are times he rents out entire hotels to accommodate all of his workers. I pointedly asked him once why he has so many undocumented workers, and he told me he would love to hire Americans, but as soon as they get one or two paychecks, they just stop showing up.

I told him straight up, the guy I blew up at, that nobody *took* his job. He *gave* it away when he decided that partying is more important than showing up. In short, we don't have a "Mexican" (sic) problem. We have an opiate problem. We have a God-damned drug problem.

Add to that the fact that the KGB is not even hiding that they were in daily contact with the Trump campaign, and I am sick to fucking death of people blaming the victim.

Don't get me started on voter suppression.

Just know that when Trump said he wouldn't trust the results of the election, it is because they had something up their sleeve.

Stop. letting. them. frame. the. fucking. narrative.

Being anti-abortion is easy. You don't have to get your hands dirty. You don't have to do much except talk about it and maybe protest and vote for dirt bags who tell you what you want to hear.

There are so many things that I wish were said before this stupid vote.

and the most sickening thing after the election was hearing newsbodies befuddled and speculating on how the country really was much angrier than everybody thought, and maybe people really didn't care about women's rights, equality, and so forth...

I have to admit, after a trump "victory" I'm much easier to sway with conspiracy theories, but "who gains" is a fair question - and its not us. America is weakened in every way, and the primary beneficiary is Russia, who had the means to pull it off. Without an election audit, at the very least, the whole thing reeks of an externally organized coup.

I supported Bernie through the primary because I wanted his ideas to become more mainstream. I knew Hillary Clinton would be the nominee and I was all in for her after that was official. This is an unprecedented loss of the Presidency. You get MILLIONS more votes. You have an opponent that doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground and goes around bragging about grabbing women by the vagina... seriously... what the fuck.

The only way that piece of shit won those few states that matter, by 1% or so in all of them mind you, is there was either cheating or the dumb shit aimed at Hillary Clinton in those last 2 weeks just knocked her down enough in those states. I don't really know which it was, its probably a little bit of both.

The people in my area who bombard the local editorial pages at least are educated and can write a coherent rant. But they also are bitter deplorables who have a sense of entitlement and think that the world owes them something because they are here. They blame minorities for all the nation's ills and believe that their ills are always someone else's fault, never their own. Perhaps they are correct, but they are blaming the wrong people. They blame trade agreements but, vote for Trump who makes the overpriced products he sells at Macy's, overseas. They blame the Unions who fought for the good benefits that they receive and enable them to live a good life for the loss of good jobs. They hate state and federal government workers whose salaries historically trailed those salaries of major corporations and the many defense contractors in our state calling them fat cats because they have finally been receiving wages and salaries commensurate with their education and their skills. They blame Obama for the high cost of medical insurance but applauded the GOP for refusing to work with the President on an affordable health care system for ALL Americans and refused to allow the Federal Government to negotiate with the pharmaceutical companies on drug prices when those same companies sell their same drugs around the world for much less than they charge here because other countries negotiate much lower prices.

I've said this here before on DU, but as a minority, I can accept this nation's shortcomings more easily even though my people can trace their presence here in America a lot further back than many of the more viceral hate mongers who are second and third generation Americans. My parents and my husband's parents both raised their children that the world owed them nothing and taught us to work hard for what you want and to appreciate what you have. So keeping up with the Joneses was never a problem with us and we passed these values on to our children. This doesn't mean that we don't like nice things or don't have nice things we just prioritize our wants and needs and we have always been savers because tomorrow is not guaranteed. Coming from a family of 9 kids, all college educated professionals, only two of us have never been laid off; my sister whose a nurse, and myself who has a degree in Accounting and has served in the military and worked for the federal government as an auditor and a contract Administrator for 27 years. I even have a sister whose a physician, and one whose a lawyer who have been laid off during recessions. No one had time for a pity party. You get to feel sorry for yourself for the rest of the day and then you get up the next morning and you start looking for your next job. Family members have relocated out of state for their next jobs. It seems only people in Rustbelt states feel entitled to wait for the next job to come to them, i.e. waiting for the proverbial mountain to come to Mohammed, instead of Mohammed going to the mountain. The mountain has never come to Mohammed.
