Election defense alliance new website

For DU election activists interested in how the academic community is viewing the recounts, please find below a letter from Jonathon Simon:

November 30, 2016

Dear Loyal Supporter of Honest Elections,

By now most of you know that there will be some investigation into the election in at least WI, PA, and MI, and perhaps in additional states. Jill Stein of the Green Party has called for recounts both to check the concealed vote counts and in the hope that, in the process, at least some of the many invitations to fraud in our electoral system will finally be publicly exposed.

Although statistical evidence gathered by forensic analysts (ourselves included) points to reversals in outcomes being at least as likely as not, the reality is that ballots, logs, memory cards, and equipment have, by and large, been unprotected since November 8. It would be no surprise if surreptitious alterations were and are continuing to be made before the recounts begin. We have seen evidence of "recount fraud" before, first-hand. The motivations are only too obvious. The recount process, nonetheless, must be watched by those with the expertise to recognize tricks and slipshod processes, and the gumption to challenge and report them.

This may be the moment we have been working toward for over 12 years: national attention, including the media, focused on the realities of our unsecured, unreliable computerized electoral system. An opportunity for the public finally to see the vulnerabilities of our systems and the many opportunities for malfunction and malfeasance. But a recount must be done right or it is worse than no recount at all.

Four leaders from Election Defense Alliance have been working with a small team of other experts to form a new entity specifically to lend support for any recount efforts. It is called RecountNow.org.

We urge you to visit that website, www.recountnow.org, where you can find more details about our goals and efforts, FAQs, and ways to contribute funds and contribute your time as a volunteer. Jill Stein, as the candidate, is allowed to raise funds for the recount itself and for legal assistance. It is essential that we also send technical experts ASAP to key strategic spots in all the states where recounts will take place. Funds for that purpose are being sought at RecountNow.org.

The time is short - the federal deadline for completion of recounts is December 19 - and the need is large. Thank you.

www.RecountNow.org

Sincerely yours and with hope,

Jonathan Simon and Sally Castleman

Just four people associated with EDA are starting the new group. Likely, so they can carry on activities EDA cannot do.
