The GOPers are happy to take the economy over the "cliff" (more of a gully, actually) because they won't take any deal that involved any tax cuts. It's odd that it doesn't seem to have occurred to them that the "cliff" results in tax increases for everybody.

But there's a whole lotta stupid going on...

if enough Americans got off their asses and started participating in their government. You know, pick up the phone, dial a Congressman, give them a piece of your mind? Putting pressure on elected officials works quite well, if enough of us are doing it.

To vote for it before the tax cuts expire would be a tax hike to too many of them, no matter what Grover says.

Most likely they'll cave in January and pass middle class tax cuts for people making $250,000 or less and nothing else.

They don't need but a few Reps in purple districts to make a deal that would pass the House and Harry could jam it thru the Senate.

Would be a much better bill for the people.

Plan B failed because few or no Dems would support it and quite a few Repubs opposed it. A more moderate/Dem friendly plan might pass since many Dems would support it and with some "moderate" Repubs that might be enough to make a majority.
