Syrian Policy - Effective? Or Not?
Getting tired of all of the blather about the stoopidity of our elected congresscritters, so I thought I'd go somewhere else...
With all of the news we hear coming out of Syria, the kidnapping of Richard Engle and his crew, the sanctions, the UN condemnations, the issues with the government there... at least the western view of those issues, the expected removal of their president Bashar al-Assad...
Is that really what is happening?
Apparently, China has been diplomatically condemning NATO interferrences, Venezuela as been giving them oil of offset sanctions. Reportedly, resturants and cafe's have been opening for business in Damascus. There appears to be solidarity between the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea and the Syrian Arab Republic.
Syria seems far from the mass-media reported turmoil, unrest and near collapse. Maybe that is why we are still in Afghanistan, 8yrs. in Iraq and seem to have difficuty doing anything in that region of the world. We are so predisposed to meddle in the affairs of other countries while waving the flag of democracy and human rights that we don't seem to understand the resistance when we do. If we need what another country has, then we do business with them. ONLY business. If we don't like what they do to their citizens... Don't do business with them. Go somewhere else. Easy enough, don't you think?
