Related: About this forumLimbaugh praised the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre as the “adult” in the gun control debate
UPDATE: The NRA is classy! Liberal culture is to blame for Newtown! Even more from Rush's radio broadcast todayBY DAVID DALEY
First, Rush Limbuagh praised the NRAs Wayne LaPierre as the adult in the gun control debate today, after his surreal press conference which called for armed guards in every school in the country.
But he didnt stop there.
We tracked down Rushs most inflammatory statements so you dont have to listen:
* The NRA was very classy and laid back for a week. They didnt say anything, didnt get involved, didnt attempt to exploit it one way or another. They are the greatest, the largest gun safety organization in the country.
* Id venture to say that 99 percent of the gun owners in this country, had they been there, would have gone over and taken the shooter out, had they had the chance. But it was a gun-free zone.
* :I think most parents would probably say, Yep, put an armed guard in there. It would be easier than rolling back the clock a couple generations where it wasnt necessary because our culture hadnt spiraled out of control. But now that it has we gotta deal with it as it exists.
* Its what a certain percentage of the country believes. Its what all leftists believe. The NRA is to blame here. The gun culture is to blame, not their culture. No way, Jose.

OP
I would object strongly if schools had armed guards on the premises. Good heavens.

This is not Israel. We are not under imminent attack.
Even in my neighborhood where we have a lot of gang crime, we are not under imminent attack. If that guy had not had such a powerful gun that made him feel so manly, he would have still been as angry, but he would not have shot all those children and teachers. He would not have known how to do it.
He could not have bought the material for bombs, etc. He would have been spotted if he tried and watched. And that is as it should be.
