Gun Control opportunity for the prez

I was watching ESPN Outside The Lines today. Apparently three prominent college hoops coaches have this week called publicly for someone to do something about this. FYI these people are as a group extremely conservative - almost all of the Repukes , many fascistly so. In fact the young one who spoke out this week admitted during his rant that he voted for Rmoney, but would get behind the president should he endeavor to take on this issue. The old one (Boeheim) said that "A congressman whom I respect this week said that instead of some gun control we should arm the teachers and post armed guards. This has gotten to the point of being ridiculous" (paraphrased).

If the president really wants to take on a "bi-partisan" issue, he should abandon the safety net cuts that were miraculously avoided, and instead do something about this epidemic. A LOT of Repukes are looking and hoping for some leadership on this right now.
