Maddow schools Fox’s Dick Morris after getting angry letter from his lawyers

Friday night on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” host Rachel Maddow answered a letter from Dick Morris’ lawyer demanding a correction to an earlier segment. Maddow was more than happy to address the issue, and issued a few corrections of her own.

The segment began with a short history lesson with regards to Democratic presidents. In the last 100 years, there have been only 3 Democratic presidents who were elected to second terms, Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Pres. Bill Clinton and Pres. Barack Obama. And while history has sort of rewritten the 1996 election as a shoo-in for Clinton, there were some fairly harrowing moments along the way.

On the day in 1996 that the president was to give his acceptance speech as the nominee to the Democratic convention, one of his top advisors, Dick Morris, was the subject of a tabloid scandal that alleged that Morris had an ongoing relationship with a prostitute, and that he had allowed her to listen in on conversations he had with the president. Morris, the campaign’s chief political strategist, was forced to resign.

The idea that the man has a shred of legitimacy or credibility is such a complete joke! The ONLY place where he is allowed to speak on the political issues of the day is on Goebbelsvision, a.k.a. Fox News. Speaking of jokes, that fact that Morris always seems to be Sean Hannity's good buddy makes Hannity look like an even bigger fool than he already is. Go such some toes, DICK!

16. I'm surprised people are foolish enough to still take on Rachel

She does make corrections when she's wrong, and I respect her and her show very much for doing that. Usually, her corrections are more in the form of clarification, rather than being flat out wrong.

Dick Morris has such a slimy history, he should really know better than to confront Rachel Maddow. Reminds me of the "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks..." saying.

Rachel Maddow is superb. She asks questions, then shuts up to let the guest answer. She allows her personality to come through on the show, and has an entertaining way of creating lead-in stories, and her explanations can be fascinating.

Rachel Maddow is must see TV!

Remember before 2008 when all Dick Morris talked about was Hillary Clinton? He wrote a dozen books about her and toured the country warning she would bring about the apocalypse or something?

I always imagined he had a private shrine to Hillary in his closet, complete with photos, hair and nail samples, and old letters, and he would kneel in front of it every night begging her to be his. It was the only explanation for his behavior.
