The Right Wing Scam – Legally Stealing From Their Followers And America

A Facebook friend sent me the following message yesterday.

His Message:
Why, if it isn’t one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.

37 Critical Items
soldoutaftercrisis.net
Food Crisis Survival Guide | 37 Things You Should Be Stockpiling…

I generally do not watch these types of marketing videos. The amount of activity on the message thread poked my curiosity. Clicking the link yesterday provided a video that pretty much articulated the content of the website. Today it is simply a webpage. One can only wonder if the server got overwhelmed.

The bottom line is many knowledgeable Americans continue to wonder why the Right continues to spew misinformation; worst, why do they continue to scare their followers. The answer is simple. You can extract money from the scared if they believe it will keep them alive or make them safe.

How do you make Americans, a people who live in one of the most stable countries in the world feel vulnerable? Create false enemies and use fairly uncommon natural disasters, tragedies, or terrorist acts to put the gullible in a constant state of fear.

Glenn Beck used fear to encourage his followers to purchase gold in a non-strategic fiscally irresponsible manner. The Right Wing played with poll numbers leading their followers to believe Mitt Romney had a chance of winning the presidency in order to continue collecting through their many donation beggars.

Now, this peddler is offering a special survival guide. He is using the standard Right Wing modus operandi. The following snippet makes it clear the audience he is targeting and the audience likely to be triggered by fear.

People May Say We’re "Crazy" Now…
But We’ll See Who Was Right When
They’re Asking Us For Help!

And as Christians we won’t even say “I told you so.”
See, there’s going to be no way to buy any of these critical items after a crisis.
You know that and I know that.
But spoiled-rotten Americans think they snap their fingers and get what they want.

The fact of the matter is, it doesn’t matter how rich, popular or politically correct you are. When people are starving and panicking you’re not going to get what you need without a fight.

That’s why you must get these crucial items before the panic. And why we’re going to be the people on top of the game when crisis hits.

See with these 37 items you’ll be in place to:
Attract like-minded Americans to rebuild our nation based on the constitution – without all the liberal crap…
Be a community leader ready to protect and provide for your fellow patriots…
Set the example for your close friends and family (these 37 items are so important you’ll become the disaster ‘go-to’ guy)…

Of course he has a deal for you. You just have to pay for something you can find on the Internet or in any book store for free or for a few dollars.

But sweat yea not. If you take advantage of this offer now he gives you a deal you simply cannot refuse.

However, I don’t want to price people out of this great resource. My hope is that I can share this critical information with as many people as possible. So I’m discounting the Sold Out After Crisis to the incredibly low price of only $49.97. Yea I know, I can charge a lot more, but I’d just assume keep the price low and help as many of my fellow patriots as possible.

While this seeming scam can hurt the gullible, what should be of concern is that this type of marketing has now permeated our body politic. Politicians, almost exclusively on the Right are using fear, lies, and misinformation to affect public policy for economic gain of a select few. Sadly, much of the media have been willful participants in this national scam by giving false arguments plausibility at best and a modicum of truth at worst.

Why is it that many Americans are unaware that the stimulus worked? It is impossible for it not to have worked because ultimately spending is stimulative. Why did Americans believe that a group of politicians could possibly codify into a healthcare bill the demise of grandma? Why do many Americans believe that austerity will reduce the budget deficit when it is clear that the reduction of economic activity will cause further government expenditures? It has already been an utter failure in Europe.

America got a deficient healthcare bill that while better than none continue to transfer middle class wealth to insurance company executives and shareholders, for paying a bill and bastardizing the insurance pool. They got a less than optimum stimulus by loading it up with business tax cuts instead of sensible spending that could have been investments not only in basic infrastructure but the knowledge wealth of the country.

It is said that transparency is the best disinfectant. Calling out scams whether they are the Internet type or the type perpetrated by politicians with the help of the media is important. Otherwise, the erosion of America’s middle class and democracy will continue.

If the debt limit is not raised, there is the possibility we will default on our bonds (hard sell politically, reducing SS payments in order to pay foreign bond holders.) If we default, our position as the world's central currency will be lost, and who knows the consequences of that.

The cash for your 'scrap' gold people make the petty crime rate go much higher as they provide an online mailer- place to sell what jewelry is stolen.

The easiest thing for people who get those kind of emails spammed at them to do is make a new clean email account and delete that old email account.

And do not give any of those places your email address again or have a throwaway email address you never read

And eat those 5 year old buckets of dry veggies, fruits and cereals....
