Another GOP Senator recognizes the inevitable

Reality seems to be enjoying a sudden burst of momentum this afternoon, as more Republicans and conservatives are coming out and acknowledging the debt ceiling will have to be raised. The latest: GOP Senator Susan Collins.

Collins spokesman Kevin Kelley emails:

Senator Collins recognizes that the debt ceiling is going to have to be raised because the U.S. cannot default on its obligations to pay for spending that has already occurred.

It's not the Senate I am worried about, it's the House. There are many in the House that would destroy America's economy just to be able to stick their tongues at and go nah nah.

We're not dealing with sane people here.

Obama has absolutely done the right thing byb taking the hard line. Holding the Country hostage every time what is supposed to be a simple procedural vote on the debt ceiling comes up is a bad precedent to follow. It stops now!
