(14,566 posts)Both my state rep and senator are Rs, and I wrote letters to them last year at this time when the Pa Rs were thinking about doing this.
I know them and am friendly with them, and don't go after them on all the issues.
I save my powder for the important things.
If you live in Pa, or Va or any other state they are thinking about this and you have an R rep or senator, you have to reach out to them personally and let them know this is your chip you are calling in.

(35,699 posts)You don't have to be very forward looking to know that this could come back to bite Republicans in the butt. Suppose for example, the Republicans were to nominate Chris Christie in 2016. He could be very competitive in places like Virginia and Pennsylvania and the change could be the difference between winning and losing in a close election.
