New shooting makes this the right day for gun-control debate

Don't tell me that the day of a highly publicized fatal shooting is not the proper time to talk about gun control.
It's the perfect time. And it should happen here, in Arizona, where for some reason the Legislature and the governor either have no interest in the subject or want to prevent any meaningful change ...
I knew, as I wrote online, that some politicians and firearms advocates would suggest the shooting in Phoenix on Wednesday should not be used to further the arguments of those pushing legislation to curb gun violence.
They're wrong ...
