Republicans!

2012 Republicans approve a budget that turns Medicare over to the private sector with the long-term goal of killing it entirely.
Verdict: History will be CRUEL. 228 Republicans actually went on the record and voted to gut Medicare.

AND last year (in both the House AND Senate). Why is it whenever something in government needs to be fixed, the Republican *solution* is either so totally unrealistic and out-of-touch or is basically no solution at all (just kill it)?

They live in this weird reality in which every senior is filthy rich and could easily afford the kind of health care that an advanced age ultimately requires but they just choose to simply rely on help from a government program, albeit one that they've actually been paying into for their adult working lives.

Well, whatever reality they're living in certainly is NOT the one in which the rest of us are..........

It's been their plan for 30 years, underfund anything they can to the point where it's inefficient and broke. After they the cons say "look, we told you govt can't do anything right"
